Moonbird App Trailer
Moonbird's Story
MOONBIRD
Your Pocket Guide
This research is about “Moonbird” - a traveling app that tells people what not to do in foreign countries by informing them about culture, customs, and etiquette. This paper covers the app creation process until the hi-fidelity prototype and its testing phases. It uses a Design-Based Research methodology to combine theory with practice and test the design in multiple iterations. There are a couple of methods used in the study to achieve the results, including the think-aloud method and contextual laddering technique. Most important outcomes consist of creating the hi-fidelity prototype itself, testing the target audience and finding out their perception on the app. As well as that, offering the web-based step-by-step guide to other designers about the design process, structure, and tools for creating similar applications. According to the findings, the likeability of the app was a common case: the users liked the Moonbird’s concept, its clarity, design, and easy and clear interface. In conclusion, even though the study answered all the research questions, study goals and expectations, the app still needs to be tested in few more iterations again, once it is functional, to get more precise results.
